HARD ROCK CABO TIPS FROM A TRAVEL ADVISOR
With a long list of amenities ranging from a bowling alley to a nightclub, the Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos manages to appeal to both families and guests traveling sans kids. Situated on the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula a little less than 10 miles west of Cabo San Lucas, this all-inclusive Hard Rock outpost earns high marks from reviewers for its attentive staff and stunning beachfront location. However, a few recent guests expressed frustration in not being able to swim in the ocean due to strong currents. Those hoping to cool off can head to one of the resort's five pools, which offer live music, foam parties, and waterslides, as well as designated adults-only areas. Aside from the pools, past lodgers were also impressed with the property's eight restaurants, which offer everything from traditional Mexican cuisine to Chinese and Japanese dishes. Other on-site amenities include a 4,000-square-foot fitness center, a 30,000-square-foot spa with 36 treatment rooms, a beauty salon, and a Hard Rock apparel shop. Parents traveling with little ones will be happy to know the hotel offers the Hard Rock Roxity Kids Club designed for children ages 4 to 12. Finally, rooms are equipped with furnished balconies, separate tubs and showers, coffee makers, free Wi-Fi access, and stocked minibars.

Inside Tips for guests visiting Hard Rock Cabo:
The Vibe
Hard Rock all-inclusive resorts are a family-friendly option for vacation. While there were families there and great options for kids, it was very much an adult resort with lots of couples. It did not feel like you were tripping over kids left and right. If you want a resort that is only about the kids, this is probably not it. If you want a resort that is only for adults, this is also probably not you. While there are adult-only areas and pools, most areas allow kids including all the restaurants and the swim-up bar at the pool. If you want a great resort for all ages that offers a really high-quality experience without feeling like you are living at Chuck E Cheese, this is definitely it. We also loved that there were things for tweens and teens to do, which can be very hard to find at some all-inclusive resorts.
Nightlife
The resort does have nighttime entertainment and bars. We loved the nightlife from a family perspective. However, younger singles or couples who want a true nightclub scene should probably head into town, which is 20-30 minutes by car.
Location
The hotel is in a new location inside an exclusive golf community. The great part of this is that it is very safe and has additional security and screening for all traffic in and out of the area. This means a couple of things: you cannot just Uber to the hotel. You need to have a transfer with a regular tour company or taxi which is often more expensive than Uber. While some may criticize this, this is also how they help keep the area secure. It is not “in town”. This is not a resort to stay in if you want to wander down the beach to a local restaurant or walk to a local shop. We loved the location because it was quiet and remote and we didn’t want to feel like we were in a big city while on vacation. Most excursions are about a 20-minute drive to town.
Restaurants Need Reservations
A la carte restaurants require reservations. We were able to make our reservations ahead of time via the vacation planners concierge desk. However, most people make them onsite or via their butler. You’ll want to get those reservations made right away for your stay.
White Party
They do a white party on Thursday night but it is totally optional. The rest of the rest is not dressed in white except those attending the party.
